The talented team at the Libertine on Butcher Row make a mean Mojito, Cosmo and Daiquiri to name just a few. Snap up a happy hour classic for £4 between 5pm and 7pm.

The MIL cocktail (that's short for Mother-in-Law) at Draper's Hall is also a must try. The MIL was created for Shrewsbury author Katy Rinks' book MIL, which, some would say, is a useful insight into how to manage your mother-in-law.

Henry Tudor House may be Shrewsbury's oldest and most historic half-timbered house but the lights, atmosphere and music make it a cool choice. Or why not head to St Nicholas Bar and Spa, a converted old church, for drinks and a spot of Moroccan wellbeing.
