Created in 1719, The Quarry is a beautiful and impressive 29-acre parkland, running along the River Severn. Throughout the year you’ll find a host events taking place at The Quarry Park, including The Carnival, Shrewsbury Regatta and Dragon Boat Racing to name just a few. With a location within easy walking distance of Shrewsbury town centre, is the perfect place to spend an hour or two relaxing in the sunshine, exploring with children, or watching activities along the river.

From Victoria Quay, there are river cruises available, which is a great way get an alternative view of Shrewsbury.

Lying adjacent to the River Severn is one of Shrewsbury's oldest suburbs, Frankwell. Being independent from the larger borough of Shrewsbury gave Frankwell the local nickname of the 'Little Borough', a name which is sometimes used to this day. A number of historical buildings in Frankwell show evidence of Shrewsbury's medieval past.
