A unique partnership between Shropshire Youth, the Emerging Leaders charity and The Shrewsbury Club has been successfully piloted in Shrewsbury to help disadvantaged young people begin to achieve their potential.

This month Shropshire Council's Shropshire Archives is celebrating 20 years at Castle Gates in Shrewsbury. The building, then known as the Shropshire Records and Research Centre, was opened by Councillor George Raxster on 24 July 1995.

Visit strengthens links with the Americas

University Centre Shrewsbury welcomed a guest from the United States to discuss the development of partnerships with universities in the Americas. Carlos Kearns, the University of Chester's representative for the continents of North and South America, visited Shrewsbury on Tuesday July 14, 2015.

Shrewsbury's Flower Power under Scrutiny

Judges will visit Shrewsbury on Tuesday 21st July to meet businesses, event organisers and key representatives from the Residents Association, the University and the Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery as part of this year's RHS Heart of England in Bloom competition. Last year the town was crowned RHS Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions.

Tickets on sale for Mayor's Flower Show lunch

Members of the public are invited to join the Mayor and Mayoress of Shrewsbury for the annual Flower Show lunch. The post-show luncheon will take place on August 16 in the Members' Marquee in the Quarry, by kind permission of the Shropshire Horticultural Society and Attwoolls.

Guest are requested to arrive at 12.30 for 1pm sit-down.

Shrewsbury Town Council proud to support BID bloom entry

Shrewsbury Town Council will be supporting Shrewsbury BID with its first entry into the Heart of England in Bloom contest. After being crowned RHS Britain in Bloom Champion of Champions last year, the Town Council is taking a well-deserved break from the contest and instead has been guiding Shrewsbury BID with an entry in its own right.
