Launch of video celebrating Shrewsbury Market Hall

From buzzing cafes and veg sellers to jolly butchers and talented craftspeople a new video has been launched celebrating the life of Shrewsbury Market Hall. The video has been shot by young Shrewsbury film-maker Aaron Child who wanted to capture the action, atmosphere and colour of the award-winning market.

Businesses urged to join Shropshire Council's Big Conversation

Businesses across Shropshire are being urged to take part in what is the biggest consultation on Shropshire Council services ever launched - and are being encouraged to ask their employees to join in. The Big Conversation survey is the first phase of a five-year conversation the council wants people who live and work in Shropshire to say what council services are most important to them.

Reminder about free Wednesday night parking in Shrewsbury

Free parking is available in Shrewsbury from 4pm every Wednesday between now and Christmas. Free parking is available in Shropshire Council-owned long-stay car parks:

 

  • Frankwell Main car park.
  • St. Julian's Friars car park.
  • Abbey Foregate car park.

Raven Meadows multi-storey will be open until 9.30pm on Wednesdays until Christmas.

Thousands turn out for Shrewsbury's biggest Lights Switch-On event

Thousands of people gathered in Shrewsbury last night for the town's biggest Christmas Lights Switch-on event to date. The event started at 4pm when the street food festival, Eat Street opened to visitors in the grounds of St Alkmund's Church.

New Shrewsbury Park and Ride service proving popular

An improved Park and Ride service that began in Shrewsbury on 2nd November 2015 is proving popular with visitors to Shrewsbury town centre. The new service began after Shropshire Council awarded a new five-year contract to manage Shrewsbury's Park and Ride service to Arriva Midlands.
