A tale of two cities - exhibition by Dutch artist Jet Rotmans comes to Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery

An exhibition by an artist from Shrewsbury's twin town of Zutphen will launch in late September 2015 at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery. "Jet Rotmans: A Tale of Two Cities - Shrewsbury and Zutphen" will open to the public on Monday 28 September 2015, with an official launch by Mayor of Shrewsbury, Councillor Miles Kenny, on Thursday 1 October 2015.

HRH The Duke of Gloucester to officially open Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery

HRH The Duke of Gloucester will officially open Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery on Thursday 17th September 2015. The new Museum & Art Gallery re-opened in the former Music Hall and 13th Century Vaughan's Mansion on 1 April 2014 and welcomed more than 80,000 visitors in its first year.

Park in Shrewsbury for just £1 on Bank Holiday Monday

People visiting Shrewsbury on Bank Holiday Monday (31st August 2015) will be able to park for just £1 in all Shropshire Council-run car parks. The special rate has been introduced by Shropshire Council to encourage people to spend Bank Holiday in the town and visit its many shops, cafes, restaurants and other attractions.

Go Free in Shrewsbury for Heritage Open Days

Shrewsbury is full of fun facts and finds and now you can explore five for free as part of the national Heritage Open Days event between 10th and 13th September. Celebrating the country's architecture and culture, Heritage Open Days offer free access to places that are usually closed to the public or charge for admission, so you can see more of Shrewsbury!

SDC to stage its first Shakespeare production at Theatre Severn

Rehearsals have started and tickets are now on sale for Shropshire Drama Company's (SDC) production As You Like It. The forthcoming Willam Shakespeare production will be taking place at Theatre Severn from 28th to 31st October 2015.
