Shrewsbury town centre improvement plans to go on display

Plans to boost Shrewsbury town centre by reducing traffic and making it easier for drivers and pedestrians to get into and around the town go on display this Friday 12th February 2016.

The plans are part of the Shrewsbury integrated transport package (SITP) which aims to stop drivers using the town centre as a through route, and to make better use of the town's outer and inner ring roads instead.

Shropshire Audiences to enjoy an unscripted evening with Joan Collins

Global superstar Joan Collins will be touring the UK later this year in a brand new one-woman show "Joan Collins Unscripted" and county audiences will have their chance to see the Dynasty star when she visits Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn later this year.

Town Council launches new and improved key play scheme

Shrewsbury Town Council's new and improved key play scheme is now open to members of the public. The scheme allows Shrewsbury residents access to sporting facilities that are not normally manned or available for public use during the day, via a combination lock.

Previously, access had been via a gate key, which required a £10 deposit. As access is now via a key code, deposits are no longer required.

Free event to place the focus on arguments surrounding anti-doping

An international expert on the management of drugs in sport is visiting University Centre Shrewsbury to share his insights and pose the question of 'Does Anti-Doping Do More Harm Than Good?' Dr Jason Mazanov will travel from the other side of the world to discuss his research in this field with students, staff and the community.

Sports fans will have the chance to get up close to the 'World Cup of Tennis' at an event at University Centre Shrewsbury's learning and research base.
