Claire Jones returns to the concert platform in 2016, with a tour promoting her album, ‘Journey’. She’ll arrive at Theatre Severn in Shrewsbury on May 6th for an evening of stirring music drawn from the world of classical music, film score favourites and well-loved national airs and folk melodies from across the British Isles.

‘The Big House – the history of Shelton Hospital’ opens on 29th April and runs until 24th July.

Students and staff at University Centre Shrewsbury (UCS) dusted off their egg-and-spoon-race skills for an Old School Sports Day which has raised more than £200 for Sport Relief.

Shrewsbury Sports Village was the venue for the sporting showdown between a team of staff and a team of students on Wednesday 16th March.

Shrewsbury will light a beacon in the town’s Square in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday next week.

Members of the public are invited to gather in front of the Old Market Hall on Thursday 21st April, from 7.30pm, where the beacon will be lit as part of a national trail of more than 1,000 flames nationwide.
