Rehearsals have started and tickets are now on sale for Shropshire Drama Company’s (SDC) forthcoming production of Arthur Miller’s post WW2 classic All My Sons at Theatre Severn, which takes place from 9th to 12th November.

This is unacceptable on two levels; no one should be homeless in Shrewsbury in 2016 - especially with winter fast approaching, and that a small number of Rough sleepers are persistently committing antisocial behaviour in Shrewsbury.

Charity organisation and venue, the Hive in Shrewsbury is launching its friendly and relaxed cinema season suitable for people with dementia and others on Wednesday 12th October with the classic musical, Singin in the rain.

Unlike traditional cinema screenings, these will have soft lighting and lower volume to bring comfort to those with dementia and other illnesses. Tickets for these screenings cost £6 per person and concessions are £4

A Shropshire businessman has raised more than £800 for charity by holding a unique photography marathon.

Paul Wilkinson, who owns Twig’s Branch Photography, completed a 12-hour, non-stop boudoir photography shoot, involving 12 different women, on Saturday.

The event has so far raised £850 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Ground investigation works are to be carried out in the vicinity of Castle Walk footbridge in Shrewsbury from 17th to 28th October 2016.

Works on the town centre side of the bridge are planned for 19th and 20th October 2016 only.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The extreme end of Dorset Street will not be available for parking, and pedestrians will be conducted through the works when coming from the footpath that connects to Burton Street.

Shropshire History Day – a showcase for the history and heritage of the county – takes place at Shirehall in Shrewsbury on Saturday 15th October, from 10.30am to 4pm.

Organised by Shropshire Council’s Shropshire Archives and the Friends of Shropshire Archives this special, free, event is a great opportunity to investigate and share information about Shropshire’s fantastic history and heritage.

Newly opened to the public, the famous and feared Dana Prison is launching a Halloween-themed zombie chase - ‘Lockdown III – Sanitorium’. Work out the maze of riddles and puzzles within the prison as you are chased by a pack of blood thirsty zombies.
