Young people aged 11-30 years old are being encouraged to book to join Shropshire Wild Trust for an inspirational talk from renowned wildlife film maker Simon King in Shrewsbury on 24th July.

Residents across Shropshire and the West Midlands are being encouraged to vote for Shrewsbury to host the 10th anniversary of the annual UK Recovery Walk.

Shrewsbury is just one of two places in the UK who are bidding to be the host town for the walk in 2018 and will be competing against the City of Bradford.

A temporarily vacant shop in Shrewsbury town centre is being put to creative use with a focus on a talented Midlands’ photographer.

The changing gallery of inspirational nature and landscape photographs by Wolverhampton-based Lindsey Bucknor OBE is on display in the window of the shop on Wyle Cop.

People have been asking when the pay and display parking machines will accept the new £1 coin. 

In Shrewsbury, all of the on-street pay and display parking machines, plus the machines at the Bridge Street, Raven Meadows and St Austin’s Street car parks, now accept the new £1 coin and card payments.
