University Centre Shrewsbury Reading Group to discuss ‘Bob Dylan - Nobel Prize Winner’

A reading group at University Centre Shrewsbury (UCS) will consider the importance of singer-songwriter Bob Dylan’s work in the light of his recent Nobel Prize for Literature award.

Dr Giulia Miller will host the free event at Guildhall, UCS’s teaching and research base, on Saturday September 9, 2017, from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Bars, cafes, restaurants and a selection of retail stalls will be open up until 10pm.

Acclaimed Canadian indie-folk music band The Fugitives will pay a gig at The Lion Hotel, Shrewsbury on Wednesday 04 October as part of a three-week UK tour.

Vicky Burton (27), joins Shrewsbury-based Galliers Homes as a quantity surveyor and will be working on the firm’s sites throughout Shropshire.

Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery are delighted to be offering FREE entry for children from Saturday 26 August 2017 until Friday 1 September 2017.

Children up to the age of 17 will be given free entry to Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery where they can explore the exciting and varied history of Shrewsbury and Shropshire, as well as the current special exhibition, Antarctica: Life in hostile land.
