Bank’s Beaujolais event boosts two charities

Two county charities benefitted from a Beaujolais tasting hosted in Shropshire recently by a leading bank.

The Shrewsbury branch of Handelsbanken held the day for its clients and associates, raising a total of £640.

Lindsay Pearson, manager of Handelsbanken, based on Shrewsbury Business Park, said that around 50 professionals attended the wine tasting at restaurant Henry Tudor House in Wyle Cop.

She commented: “This annual Beaujolais networking event has been organised in Shropshire for around 30 years, always donating its proceeds to local good causes.

“This year we were delighted that so many representatives of Shropshire businesses could join us – it was a very enjoyable afternoon and an ideal opportunity for county professionals to network with others in an informal atmosphere whilst collecting money for charity.”

The event raised £640 through ticket sales and a raffle, with the money being split between West Midlands Air Ambulance and the Shropshire branch of Macmillan Cancer Research.
