New Shrewsbury and Ironbridge Gorge, hop on and off, open top sightseeing bus service launched

Shrewsbury based tour operator, Regional Transport are offering a new 'hop on, hop off' open top bus tour to allow visitors to take in the wonderful scenery of Shropshire and some of its famous attractions.
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes and will be running 3 times a day on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays starting from 2nd May. The tour operates from Shrewsbury to Ironbridge via Much Wenlock on the return journey. The midday service allows for a 1 hour break in Ironbridge.

The ticket allows visitors to hop on and hop off at any of the designated bus stops to explore many of Shropshire's attractions and museums on the route such as: Shrewsbury Castle and Regimental Museum, Shrewsbury Abbey, the Battlefield Visitor Centre, Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City, Buildwas Abbey, Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Coalport China Museum, The Ironbridge Museum and Tollhouse, and the Museum of the Gorge.

Shrewsbury based Regional Transport owner Robert Thompson said: "I am delighted to be launching this brand new sightseeing service to allow passengers to enjoy the delights of the Shropshire scenery from the enhanced view offered by an open top bus, as well as supporting the many wonderful attractions and museums that this has been specifically designed to serve. I hope that both local residents and tourists alike will both enjoy and benefit from this new tour."

Tickets are available from the driver or in advance from any of the Region Transport outlets along the route or online from the CityXplora website.

One day hop on and off fares are £15.00 for Adults, £10.00 for Children (5 to 15), and £12.50 for Concessions (over 60's / students with a valid student card).

A family-ticket for 2 Adults and up to 3 Children is £35.00.

Two day hop on and off fares are £20.00 for Adults, £12.50 for Children, £17.00 for Concessions, and £45.00 for the family ticket.

The tour will run from 2nd May to 25th October. Pre-recorded commentary is provided on board.
