Shrewsbury's Square set to shine again

  • Shrewsbury Square light projections Christmas

A unique lighting show which launched earlier this month on the wall of Shrewsbury's Museum and Art Gallery will return on Wednesday 17th December in time for the annual Carols in the Square event. Projection light artist Andy McKeown will air Shrewsbury BID's popular Christmas film as part of the Christmas themed lighting show, which starts at approximately 4.30pm.

McKeown was commissioned by Shrewsbury BID to create one-off lighting shows to be projected in the town centre on Wednesday nights and add to the magic of Shrewsbury's late night shopping and leisure experience. So far projections have taken place on the Museum and Art Gallery, the Baptist Church and Fabricius Green on High Stree.

Kirsten Henly, Shrewsbury BID Manager, said: "These kind of light shows give those who know and love Shrewsbury, as well as visitors, the change to look up and see the town in a completely new light. We know that Carols in the Square is a popular event and hope that the event's many visitors will stay to watch the light show and video screening".
