STOP THE CLOCK for Shrewsbury Museum at Night

On Wednesday 17 May 2017, Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery will come to life for Museum’s at Night.

The museum will open its doors between 4pm and 9pm for an exciting, programme of art, live music and family friendly events.

You will be able to enter the clock room and become part of its mechanism as internationally renowned media artist, Andy McKeown turns the museum’s special exhibition gallery into a stunning, immersive light and sound show.

The young and young at heart will be able to create their own doodles on post it notes and see them transformed into beautiful moving kaleidoscopic light with the Kaleidoscopia LIVE arcade machine.

Hands-on art activities for all ages will be supplied by Hey Day Arts and visitors will be invited to experience the Tudor and Stone Age period as the museum’s Tudor and pre-history exhibitions come to life with Tudor musicians and Stone Age specialists.

Refreshments and live music will also be available at the museum’s STOP Café

Fay Bailey, Learning and Communications Manager at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, said:

‘We are very excited to be hosting our first Museums at Night event on 17th May. The museum will be buzzing with activity and we look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages’

All of this can be enjoyed for as little as £10 with the Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery family offer. See the website for more information.
