The Goon Show

Birmingham Comedy Festival and Fred Theatre present: THE GOON SHOW!

Birmingham Comedy Festival and Fred Theatre present a rare chance to see two classic Milligan radio scripts performed on stage, complete with live sound effects and jazz band.

The Goon Show re-wrote the rules of British comedy during the 1950s, attracting radio audiences of nearly two million and paving the way for Monty Python, Eddie Izzard, Steve Coogan and The Mighty Boosh – and they can still be heard on BBC radio today, 60 years later!

The sell-out success of 2014’s Birmingham Comedy Festival returns with two new surreal adventures first heard in 1956:

THE HOUSE OF TEETH: [The Goon Show: number 145; series 6, episode 20; first broadcast on 31 January 1956]

THE JET-PROPELLED GUIDED NAAFI: [The Goon Show: number 144; series 6, episode 19; first broadcast on 24 January 1956]
