Shrewsbury Folk Festival 2017

About

Shrewsbury's annual folk festival is one of the top events of its kind in the country. Offering four days of folk and world music and dance over the August Bank Holiday in a glorious riverside location within walking distance of town centre, it is no surprise it is a firm favourite with music fans and local people alike.

The joy of the event, whether you're a die-hard folk fan or just looking to relax and experience new things, is the knowledge that you'll not only see the cream of the UK and international folk musicians but also discover someone or something new.

The festival has five music stages and venues, a dance tent, more than 100 workshops, its popular children's festival Pandemonium, and a dedicated youth programme Refolkus which has a packed programme for young people aged 11 to 20.

Add to that superb on-site camping facilities site, a craft fair plus a food village, and real ale and prosecco bars and you'll never want to leave!

The festival is held at the Greenhous West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury. You can catch a dance procession through the streets of Shrewsbury on the Saturday 27th August, leaving from the Castle and wending its way to the Square
