Historical discoveries, supernatural scares or medieval detectives, Shrewsbury guides offer a range of themed tours throughout the year, as well as a general historical town trails. Usually lasting for 90 minutes and taking in the historic heart of the town, tours can be customised to suit any itinerary. Tours are available in French and Italian and the last tour of the day is at 7pm.

Tour trail themes include:

Ghost tours - Disembarking in the dark if you dare

Ancient ages (Medieval, Tudor, 18th century, Victorian) - Shrewsbury's architecture, characters and stories span eleven centuries.

Brother Cadfael - Mix medieval fact and fiction through the backdrop of Ellis Peters' Shrewsbury based detective novels.

Whether you prefer to operate alone or have a great group for an outing, a coach and guide can be hired for the day. The guide will deliver commentary, organise your group at visitor attractions and be on hand for extra facts at lunch and coffee stops.

One guide per coach is sufficient, although one guide per twenty people is required for walking tours.

Soak up the Severn in a route along the river loop. Named after the water nympth who guards the River Severn, the riverboat Sabrina travels from the English Bridge to the Welsh Bridge and back again in a 45 minute ride.

Trips run every day, on the hour from 11-4pm between March and October. Live commentary and town maps are provided on board.

Evening cruises offer food, cocktails and live entertainment, visit the Sabrina Boat website to book and for information on evening events.

Get a taste of Shropshire with the 'hop on, hop off' open top tour bus. The tour operates from Shrewsbury to Ironbridge, via Much Wenlock on the return journey, stopping at attractions along the route, such as Shrewsbury Castle and Regimental Museum, Shrewsbury Abbey, the Battlefield Visitor Centre, Attingham Park, Wroxeter Roman City, Buildwas Abbey, Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, Coalport China Museum, The Ironbridge Museum and Tollhouse, and the Museum of the Gorge.

The tour lasts 2 hours and 20 minutes and runs 3 times a day on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays.

A single day hop on and off fare is £15.00 for Adults, £10.00 for Children (5 to 15), and £12.50 for Concessions (over 60's / students with a valid student card).

A family ticket for 2 Adults and up to 3 Children is £35.00.

A two-day hop on and off fare is £20.00 for Adults, £12.50 for Children, £17.00 for Concessions, and £45.00 for the family ticket.

The tour will run from 2nd May to 25th October. Pre-recorded commentary is provided on board.
